Webisode 2: Three money experts talk about ways to make next year a more prosperous one than 2012.
(The Root) — Who doesn’t want tips for prosperity in the New Year? In the latest The Root Livewebcast, which aired Monday, Dec. 17, host Harriette Cole tackled the topic with three experts: Teri Williams, president of OneUnited Bank; Harris Glasser, author of It’s My Money and I Want It; and Michelle Singletary, personal-finance columnist for the Washington Post.
They offered plenty of good advice — and even some motivation for those who might have given up hope. “Recognize that things have changed,” Williams said. “And what I mean by that is because you were turned down before doesn’t mean you’ll be turned down today. Because you couldn’t find a job yesterday doesn’t mean you will not find one tomorrow. And to never give up. Because what I have seen is that the economy is getting better … there are a lot of people who have withdrawn from the workforce, and … I really do believe that they should try again.”
